New Delhi, February 22: Actor Vicky Kaushal has expressed his gratitude after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised his historical action drama film 'Chhava', calling the acknowledgment a huge honor.
During the inauguration ceremony of the 98th All India Marathi Literary Conference (ABMSSC), PM Modi highlighted Maharashtra's contribution to both Marathi and Hindi cinema, stating, "And these days, 'Chhava' is creating a tremendous buzz."
The film, which was released last week, has garnered over ₹300 crore at the global box office, showcasing its widespread success.
In 'Chhava', Vicky Kaushal portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Maratha Empire founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The movie delves into Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery, sacrifices, and his pivotal role in Maratha history.
Kaushal shared his excitement on Instagram, posting the video clip of PM Modi’s speech, along with the caption, "Words cannot express this honor. Deeply grateful to Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji."
Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Yesubai in the film, also expressed her gratitude, stating, "Thank you so much, Narendra Modi Ji, this is truly a huge honor."
The film's producer, Maddock Films, shared the Prime Minister’s clip on its official Instagram handle, remarking, "An extraordinary honor! We are overwhelmed with pride and gratitude for this recognition."
The film has also been declared tax-free in Goa and Madhya Pradesh, making it more accessible to audiences in these states.
The star-studded cast includes Akshay Khanna, Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Ashutosh Rana, each delivering powerful performances that contribute to the film's cinematic brilliance.
