Ahmedabad : Three Arrested for Uploading Inappropriate Videos of Women in Hospitals and Kumbh Mela
Ahmedabad, February 21: The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has arrested three individuals for allegedly uploading inappropriate videos of women undergoing medical examinations in hospitals and sharing footage of women bathing at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The arrests were made from Prayagraj, Latur, and Sangli in Maharashtra, as per police reports on Friday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Lavina Sinha, one of the accused, Chandra Prakash, a resident of Prayagraj, had started a YouTube channel called ‘CP Monda’ a few months ago. He had uploaded videos of women pilgrims bathing at the Mahakumbh on this channel. Chandra Prakash was apprehended on Wednesday along with Prajwal Teli and Praj Patil, who were arrested from Maharashtra.
The police investigation revealed that the accused shared objectionable videos of female patients recorded in a Rajkot hospital on the Telegram platform to earn money. The videos included CCTV footage showing women undergoing medical examinations by female doctors and receiving injections from nurses in a private room.
Sinha stated that while Teli and Patil acquired the videos from a hacker, Chandra Prakash downloaded videos from other YouTube channels and uploaded them to his own channel. The police are currently investigating whether Chandra Prakash also shared the videos with a monetary motive.
There appears to be no connection between Chandra Prakash and the two accused from Maharashtra. The source of the hospital videos has been traced back to CCTV footage from the Payal Maternity Home in Rajkot.
The police investigation is ongoing to identify other potential victims and uncover any additional illegal activities by the accused. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding privacy violations and security lapses in medical facilities and public events.
