17-Year-Old Inmate Dies by Suicide at Rajkot Juvenile Home, Police Initiates Investigation
Rajkot, February 21: A 17-year-old inmate at the Juvenile Protection Home located on Gondal Road in Rajkot died by suicide on Friday morning, causing a stir in the area. The minor was found hanging from a bedsheet in his room. The incident prompted a swift response from the local police, who sent the body for post-mortem and initiated legal procedures, including forensic examination and documentation.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred at Saurashtra's only Juvenile Protection Home, where the minor was staying as a juvenile offender. Early in the morning, another juvenile noticed the body hanging and immediately informed the authorities of the regional observation home. Subsequently, the police were notified about the incident.
Upon receiving the information, a police team, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, reached the scene and began a detailed investigation. The body was sent for autopsy, and the authorities are currently probing the possible reasons behind the tragic incident.
