Five Dead, 23 Injured in Bus-Truck Collision in Gujarat's Kutch District
Bhuj, February 21: A tragic road accident in Gujarat's Kutch district on Friday claimed the lives of five people and left 23 others injured when a private bus collided with a truck. The accident occurred around 1 PM near Kera village on the highway, and the injured were rushed to a hospital in Bhuj, officials confirmed.
The Superintendent of Police (Kutch West), Vikas Sunda, stated that the accident took place when a truck traveling from Mundra to Bhuj collided with a private bus. Four passengers died on the spot, while a fifth victim succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The injured passengers, numbering 23, are undergoing treatment at the JK General Hospital in Bhuj, according to authorities. District Collector Amit Arora mentioned that two of the injured are in critical condition.
The exact cause of the collision remains unclear, and officials are investigating whether the accident resulted from a head-on collision or if one vehicle hit the other. Further details are awaited as the police conduct a detailed inquiry into the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
