PM Modi Emphasizes Need for Global-Minded Leaders with Indian Ethos at ‘School of Ultimate Leadership’ Conference

New Delhi, February 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted India's emergence as a global superpower and underscored the need for leaders with a global outlook and Indian mindset to sustain this momentum. Speaking at the inauguration of the 'School of Ultimate Leadership' (SOL) Conference at Bharat Mandapam, Modi stressed that international institutions like SOL are not just optional but an essential requirement for India's progress.

Addressing the conference, Modi emphasized the critical need for leaders who blend strategic decision-making, crisis management, and future vision with an understanding of global business dynamics. He noted that such leadership is crucial not only in bureaucracy and business but across all sectors to project India's national vision on the world stage.

Modi articulated that as India rises as a global power, this growth trajectory is accelerating across all fields, necessitating world-class leadership to maintain and enhance this development. He remarked, “Institutions like SOL can be game-changers in this transformation. They are not merely an option but a necessity.”

The Prime Minister called for leadership that can represent India's interests while addressing global complexities and needs. He emphasized that nation-building begins with individual development, from people to the world, advocating a bottom-up approach to achieving great heights.

Modi termed the establishment of SOL as a significant milestone in India’s journey toward becoming a 'Developed India', and stressed the need for excellence in leadership across every sector. He pointed out that nations aspiring for progress need not only natural resources but also human resources that can drive innovation and skill development effectively.

Citing Gujarat as an example, Modi explained how the state, despite a lack of natural resources, thrived due to strong leadership. He highlighted that while Gujarat does not have diamond mines, nine out of ten diamonds globally are processed by Gujarati hands, showcasing the power of leadership and skill.

Modi urged the need for scientific acceleration in leadership development, positioning SOL as a pivotal force in this transformation. He expressed optimism that as new leadership takes charge in fields ranging from diplomacy to technological innovation, India's influence would multiply manifold.

He concluded by reinforcing the idea of building a generation of leaders who embody global thinking with local values, ensuring India's holistic and sustainable development.

The conference featured a keynote address by Bhutan’s Prime Minister Dasho Shering Tobgay. Over the next two days, the event will see personalities from politics, sports, arts, media, spirituality, public policy, business, and social sectors share their success stories, inspiring the next generation of leaders.
