Rajkot: In yet another tragic hit-and-run incident in Jasdan, an elderly couple lost their lives after being hit by a speeding car on Bypass Road late Tuesday night. The accident has left their family in deep sorrow.
Incident Details
According to reports, Jugabhai Popatbhai Shapra (70) and his wife Samuben Jugabhai Shapra (60) were traveling on a bike on Jasdan Bypass Road when a high-speed car rammed into them while they were crossing the road. Jugabhai died on the spot, while Samuben sustained severe injuries. She was rushed to a hospital but succumbed during treatment.
Family Mourns the Tragic Loss
The deceased couple were residents of Lakhvad village in Jasdan and worked as security guards to support their family. According to locals, the car was moving at an extremely high speed and fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Police Investigation Underway
Following the incident, a crowd gathered at the accident site, leading to traffic congestion. The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and are currently analyzing CCTV footage to trace the suspect. Authorities have assured that the accused driver will be apprehended soon.
