Truck Driver Kidnapped and Robbed in Rajkot; Key Accused Arrested
Rajkot, February 18 – A truck driver from Bihar, identified as Satendra Jeetal Pal (28), was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted, and robbed while on his way to load goods at Babra Jeening Mill from Gandhidham. The B-Division Police have arrested the main accused, Imran alias Imlao Hasambhai Qadri (24), a resident of Hudko Chowkdi, Rajkot.
How the Incident Unfolded
Satendra, who has been working for a transport company for over a decade, was assigned to transport cotton from Gandhidham to Radhe Shyam Cotton Jeening Mill in Babra. As he was driving on the Rajkot Bypass Road near Bedhi Circle, a black Verna car without a license plate overtook his truck and blocked his path.
The suspect forcefully entered the truck’s cabin, alleging that Satendra’s truck had damaged his car. When Satendra denied the accusation and refused to pay, the accused pulled out a knife, placed it on his neck, and threatened him.
Robbery of ₹16,200 and Assault
The accused demanded money, but when Satendra couldn’t provide cash, they snatched his phone and forced him to reveal his Google Pay password. They then transferred ₹16,200 from his account. The perpetrators also took away the truck’s keys and his phone before forcibly dragging him into their car.
Satendra was driven to multiple locations where he was beaten, slapped, and threatened at knifepoint. At Greenland Crossroad, the accused forced him to scan a QR code to withdraw more money. Later, they continued driving around, assaulting him repeatedly before finally abandoning him.
Police Investigation and Arrest
After the ordeal, Satendra managed to contact his transport company’s owner, who then helped him file a police complaint. The B-Division Police launched an investigation, analyzing CCTV footage and tracking suspicious mobile numbers.
Based on intelligence, police tracked down and arrested Imran alias Imlao Qadri, who has a history of theft and robbery cases registered at Ajidam, A-Division, and Essex Bridge police stations.
Authorities are now searching for other accomplices involved in the crime and are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
