A.R. Rahman Subtly Reacts to Social Media Controversy at 'Chhava' Audio Launch

New Delhi, February 13 – Renowned composer A.R. Rahman subtly addressed the controversy surrounding social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, emphasizing the consequences of speaking without thought. His remarks came during the audio launch event for the film “Chhava”, starring Vicky Kaushal.

At the event in Mumbai on Wednesday night, Kaushal playfully asked Rahman to describe his music using only three emojis. After a brief pause, Rahman referred to the silent emoji, humorously remarking, “I think we all saw last week what happens when you open your mouth.” His statement prompted laughter from both Kaushal and the audience, indirectly referencing the ongoing backlash against Allahbadia's controversial remarks.

Several public figures have already condemned Allahbadia’s statements, which were made on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show, "India’s Got Latent". Many have criticized the comments as "obscene" and "irresponsible."

Following the controversy, Raina announced that he had deleted all episodes of the show from his YouTube channel. He also assured full cooperation with investigating agencies.

Allahbadia, facing multiple police complaints in Mumbai and Guwahati, posted a public apology video on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, acknowledging that his remarks were inappropriate and offensive. The controversy continues to fuel public and legal scrutiny, raising debates around free speech, social media responsibility, and content regulation.
