Social Media Influencer Ranveer Allahbadia’s Remarks Spark Controversy, Leaders and Celebrities React
New Delhi, February 12 – Social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia has found himself at the center of controversy following his objectionable remarks, drawing criticism from politicians and film industry figures alike. While some have called for a ban on his show, others have defended his freedom of expression.
BJP MP Ravi Kishan, reacting to the controversy, termed the incident unfortunate. Speaking to the media, he stated, “Ranveer Allahbadia has violated the law in some way. If the parliamentary committee has taken a decision, he will be summoned accordingly.”
Film director Imtiaz Ali and actor Manoj Bajpayee also shared their perspectives in an interview with Instant Bollywood. Ali emphasized that people should pursue what they enjoy, but noted that obscenity is universally frowned upon. He added, “People can be immature, and their mistakes should not always be taken too seriously.”
Bajpayee highlighted the importance of understanding one's environment, particularly for those who achieve success at a young age. He advised, “This is why I always say—please read newspapers.”
Veteran actor Raza Murad weighed in, stating that many people use vulgar language and make offensive remarks without facing consequences. He added, “However, better late than never. Democracy does not mean spreading obscenity, and our Constitution does not allow it.”
Actor Mukesh Khanna strongly criticized Allahbadia’s comments, calling them “vulgar and irresponsible.” He expressed concern over the unchecked freedom given to today’s youth under the pretext of free speech, stating, “There should be limits to everything, including freedom of expression. His remarks were disgraceful.”
While criticism mounted, a few individuals came forward to defend the influencer. Actress Rakhi Sawant urged the public to forgive Allahbadia, stating that he deserved a second chance.
The controversy has reignited the debate over the boundaries of free speech and public responsibility, with opinions divided between strict regulation and personal freedom in digital media.
