Dr. Mohit Bhatia: Thank you for having me! I have an MBA in healthcare management and a background in medico-marketing and clinical research. My journey into healthcare and wellness started with my work in international pharmaceutical MNCs, but in 2012, my brother, Paras Bhatia, my wife, Dr. Harsimran Kaur, and I launched Vkare Bio Sciences. Our first venture focused on manufacturing surgical instruments, and this laid the foundation for our future entrepreneurial endeavors in skincare and nutraceuticals.

That sounds like an exciting beginning! Fuschia, one of your standout ventures, was launched in 2013. What makes Fuschia unique in the skincare industry?

Dr. Mohit Bhatia: Fuschia is unique because it specializes in vegan, handmade, and natural skincare products. What sets us apart is our commitment to using premium natural ingredients, sustainable manufacturing practices, and eco-friendly packaging. We understand that consumers are looking for products that not only nurture their skin but also protect the planet. So, our focus is on creating high-quality, eco-conscious products that align with both personal and environmental well-being.

It’s great to see such a commitment to sustainability. How does Fuschia resonate with today’s consumers, particularly in terms of values and trends?

That’s when we saw the urgent need for high-quality, evidence-backed nutraceuticals in India. The market was heavily dependent on imports, and there was a gap for trusted, local alternatives. Physiovits was created to address these nutritional deficiencies, particularly for the working, middle, and upper classes. We wanted to offer supplements that could help people lead healthier lives and bridge that gap in preventive health.

It sounds like you saw an opportunity to address a real need. How does Physiovits differentiate itself in the crowded nutraceutical market?

Dr. Mohit Bhatia: Physiovits stands out by focusing on scientifically backed, high-quality nutritional supplements. We developed our products with the help of a team of doctors and pharmacists to ensure they meet the highest standards of reliability and effectiveness. Additionally, our direct-to-consumer (D2C) model allows us to provide convenience and easy access to quality health products online. We also pride ourselves on our rigorous manufacturing processes, with products made in GMP-certified facilities. This focus on quality and transparency has helped build trust with our consumers.

That D2C approach is definitely in line with modern consumer preferences. The nutraceutical market in India is growing rapidly. How do you see Physiovits capitalizing on this trend?

Currently, India imports billions of dollars’ worth of nutraceuticals, which presents a huge opportunity for local brands.
