Morbi/Amreli, February 3 – Three separate incidents of electrocution and suicides were reported in Morbi and Amreli districts, raising concerns over accidental and distress-related deaths.
Elderly Man Electrocuted in Morbi
In Morbi’s Leelapar Road, 60-year-old Rameshbhai Bachubhai Dethariya tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while working on a farm on the outskirts of Leelapar village. The incident has left the local community in shock.
Two Suicide Cases in Amreli District
Meanwhile, in Amreli, two separate suicide incidents were reported:
Rajula Taluka Suicide – 32-year-old Imtiaz Nanubhai Qazi from Bherai village ended his life by hanging himself at home due to unknown personal distress. The reasons behind his suicide remain unclear.
Jafrabad Hostel Tragedy – A 25-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh, identified as Afreenben Mohammad Yunusbhai Sattar Mohammadbhai Sheikh, was found hanging in her hostel room at a private company’s girls’ hostel in Lunsapur village, Jafrabad. The incident caused panic among hostel residents.
Afreenben was a private-sector employee and reportedly used a scarf (chundari) to hang herself. The matter came to light when her father informed Jafrabad Police, who rushed to the spot, took custody of the body, and initiated an investigation.
Authorities are investigating all three cases to determine the exact causes and possible preventive measures.
