Surat : Municipal Corporation conducts repair work, raising concerns for road conditions in upcoming monsoon season
Surat - A series of landslide incidents in the Varachha area has raised concerns about the city's road conditions, even during the summer months. The most recent landslide occurred near Khodiyarnagar, causing difficulties for drivers and prompting the Municipal Corporation to install barricades and initiate repair work.
Road collapse incidents, typically associated with the monsoon season, have been reported throughout the summer in Surat. Just a week ago, another landslide took place near Varachha Mini Bazaar. Additionally, potholes have emerged in Jahangirpura and Rander areas, with the latest incident near Varachha Khodiyarnagar further exacerbating the situation.
The current state of the city's roads has alarmed residents, who are questioning the preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season. The Surat Municipal Corporation is working to address these issues, but it remains to be seen if their efforts will be sufficient to prevent further road collapse incidents during the rainy months.
