Surat Authorities Crack Down on Adulterated Mango Juice Sales
Surat Municipal Corporation takes samples for lab testing to ensure public safety
Surat - The Food Department of Surat Municipal Corporation has launched an investigation into the sale of potentially adulterated mango juice, commonly marketed as Mango Milk Shake, following recent action against fruit traders selling chemically ripened mangoes. This move comes amid a surge in mango juice sales in the city, with more mango juice being sold than actual mangoes due to a shortage of the fruit.
According to municipal administration officials, samples of mango juice have been collected from various traders across different zones in Surat and sent for laboratory examination. If any samples are found to be unsafe for consumption, the administration has vowed to take action against the responsible traders.
The decision to investigate mango juice sales was prompted by concerns for public health, as there have been complaints of adulteration in some cases. The Surat Municipal Corporation aims to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents by identifying and penalizing any traders found to be selling adulterated mango juice products.
