Surat Builder and Hotelier Commits Suicide Amid Health Struggles
70-Year-Old Suffering from Paralysis Takes His Own Life
Surat - A prominent 70-year-old builder and hotel owner from Surat's Piplod area tragically took his own life by shooting himself with a revolver, after battling with paralysis for an extended period.
Arjanbhai Maniya, the owner of Black Pepper Hotel and a well-known builder in Surat, had been struggling with his health for a considerable amount of time. The ongoing difficulties he faced led him to commit suicide at his residence in the Piplod area, where he lived with his family and three sons.
Maniya had experienced a brain stem attack two years prior, which resulted in difficulties speaking and walking, ultimately leaving him bedridden. According to his son, Bharatbhai, the continuous mental stress from his illness drove Maniya to take such a drastic step.
Bharatbhai explained that his father's revolver was typically kept locked away, but on the day of the incident, Maniya managed to access the weapon and use it to end his life. The body has been sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem.
