India Shines at Hong Kong Leg of World Pickleball Championship with Six Medals

New Delhi. India showcased an impressive performance at the Hong Kong leg of the World Pickleball Championship, securing a total of six medals, including one gold, three silver, and two bronze.

The championship, held from November 29 to December 1, saw Vanshik Kapadia and Vrushali Thakre clinch gold in the 19+ Open Mixed Doubles category, marking a significant achievement for the Indian contingent.

In the same category, Kuldeep Mahajan, partnering with South Korea’s Kim Young Gwon, earned a silver medal. Additionally, Vanshik Kapadia (19+ Open Men’s Singles) and the duo of Kareena Aditya Dwipayani and Vrushali Thakre (19+ Open Women’s Doubles) brought home two more silver medals.

India also won two bronze medals, with Esha Lakhani and Rus Van Reek claiming one in the 19+ Open Women’s Doubles, while Mayur Patil and Nielson Chen secured the other in the 19+ Open Mixed Doubles category.

The stellar performance highlights the growing prominence of pickleball in India and the nation's ability to compete at a global level in the sport.
