10 Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit and Chitrakoot
Pilibhit/Chitrakoot: At least 10 people lost their lives, and several others were injured in two separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit and Chitrakoot districts on Friday morning, according to police.
In Pilibhit's Neoria police station area, a car carrying 11 passengers crashed into a tree, killing five people. Pilibhit Superintendent of Police (SP) Avinash Kumar Pandey stated, "A group returning from a wedding in Uttarakhand’s Khatima was traveling in a Maruti Ertiga. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit a roadside tree."
He added, "Three people were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment." Four injured passengers have been referred to a larger hospital for advanced treatment, while two others received primary care and are in stable condition.
In Chitrakoot, another accident claimed five lives when a Mahindra Bolero collided head-on with a truck. SP Arun Kumar Singh reported, "The incident occurred around 5:30 AM in the Raipura police station area. The Bolero was traveling from Prayagraj, while the truck was heading towards Prayagraj from Raipura."
Of the 11 passengers in the Bolero, five have been confirmed dead, while the remaining six are receiving treatment. "The injured are being shifted to the district hospital for advanced care," Singh said.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents, and further legal proceedings are underway.
