Woman Dies, Son Hospitalized During 'Pushpa 2' Premiere Show in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, December 5 – A tragic incident occurred during the premiere of actor Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad, where a woman lost her life due to suffocation in a crowd, and her son was hospitalized. The police confirmed the incident on Thursday.
The chaos unfolded on Wednesday night as a massive crowd gathered at a cinema to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun and other cast members of the film.
According to the police, the theater management had not made prior arrangements or issued notifications regarding the arrival of the actor and the film's crew. The lack of preparation contributed to the uncontrollable surge of fans.
Preliminary investigations revealed that as the crowd pushed forward to enter the theater, the woman and her son were trapped in the midst of the commotion. Amid the shoving and jostling, both collapsed due to suffocation.
A senior police official stated that the theater was small and ill-equipped to handle such a large gathering. Police officers attempted to resuscitate the woman and her son using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before transporting them to a hospital. Unfortunately, the woman was declared dead on arrival, while her son is currently undergoing treatment.
To manage the situation, police resorted to mild force to disperse the crowd. Authorities have registered a case regarding the incident and are investigating further.
This tragic event has cast a shadow over the film's premiere, prompting concerns about safety measures during high-profile events.
