Two Workers Electrocuted in Surat Embroidery Factory Accident
Incident Occurred While Changing Cloth on Embroidery Machine, Caught on CCTV
Surat - Two laborers were electrocuted and died in an embroidery factory accident in Amrit Udyog Nagar, Kholvad village of Kamrej. The workers were attempting to change the fabric on an embroidery machine when a part of the machine made contact with a high-tension power line outside the window. The entire incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed in the factory.
The laborers, identified as Bhagwan Singh Sahab Singh Rajput (27) and Satish Kumar Malikhan Singh Rajput (28), both from Uttar Pradesh, were working on the embroidery machine on the second floor of the factory. While trying to replace the 30-foot-long machine, the pair hurriedly took out one end of the machine from the window, which then touched the high-tension power line. Both workers were electrocuted immediately and fell to the ground.
Other factory workers rushed to the scene and took the two laborers to the nearest hospital for treatment. However, the doctor on duty declared both brought dead. The shocking CCTV footage of the incident shows the laborer falling to the ground in just a second after being electrocuted.
Kamrej police, along with Chandraprakash Rajput, uncle of the deceased Bhagwan Singh Rajput, and other villagers, arrived at the scene following the incident. The police have seized the CCTV footage from the embroidery factory and registered a case of accidental death. Arrangements are being made to transport the bodies of Bhagwan Singh Rajput and Satish Rajput to their native Uttar Pradesh.
