Gati Shakti University Aligns Education with Industry Needs: Rail Minister Vaishnaw
Institution to Join India's Top 10 Universities Soon
Vadodara, November 30: Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized the strategic vision behind the establishment of Gati Shakti University (GSV) in Vadodara, Gujarat, stating that it aims to align classroom education with the evolving demands of industries. Addressing the second convocation ceremony as the Chancellor of GSV, Vaishnaw expressed confidence that the university would soon rank among India’s top ten institutions.
Vaishnaw highlighted the thoughtfully designed B.Tech and MBA programs offered at GSV, tailored to meet the talent requirements of global industries, including aviation and semiconductors. He added that the Vadodara-based High-Speed Skill Training Institute would soon be integrated into GSV, enhancing its capabilities.
During the event, Vaishnaw requested Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to allocate additional land to facilitate the university’s expansion and cater to the growing needs of its students in the coming years.
Reflecting on his own academic journey, Vaishnaw remarked, “Around 30 years ago, there was a significant gap between college education and industry requirements due to the narrow mindset of those in power at the time. They failed to think ahead.”
The minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary approach, stating, “The Prime Minister envisioned a university that would be among the best globally in logistics and transportation. It is an honor for me to implement this forward-thinking vision.”
Gati Shakti University aims to bridge the education-industry gap, contributing to India’s development in key sectors while preparing students for global challenges.
