DRONA announces paid internship programme for aspiring cybersecurity professionals

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], November 30: In a groundbreaking move to bolster the country’s cyber defence capabilities, DRONA, a leading provider of 360° cybersecurity services, has announced a six-month paid internship programme for aspiring cybersecurity professionals. This initiative is a key step in creating a robust workforce equipped to combat the growing challenges of cyber threats and cybercrime.

Under this programme, more than 600 candidates from across India are undergoing a rigorous evaluation process and the final selections will be announced shortly. The selected interns will receive world-class training at DRONA’s Integrated Cyber Security Command Control Centre in Ahmedabad, preparing them for roles as cybersecurity specialists and digital forensic experts. These professionals will play a crucial role in supporting law enforcement agencies and defence forces in safeguarding the nation’s cyberspace.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Dhruv Pandit, Founder & CEO of DRONA, said, “At DRONA, we believe that empowering the next generation of cybersecurity experts is critical to securing India’s digital future. This internship programme, with 150 interns in a single batch, reflects our commitment to nurturing talent and equipping them with the tools and knowledge to strengthen the nation’s cybersecurity resources effectively.”

The initiative aligns with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between DRONA and the Government of Gujarat in January 2024, under which DRONA committed to training 2,000 cybersecurity professionals over five years. The organisation has also pledged to contribute towards the creation of a formidable force of 1,00,000 Cyber Yoddhas (Cyber Warriors) to strengthen India’s cyber resilience.

DRONA has introduced specialised programmes such as B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc., and M.Sc. in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, in collaboration with the Indus University, to nurture future leaders in cybersecurity. With 350+ students currently enrolled, DRONA aims to expand its student base to over 2,000 by the 2025 admission cycle.
