Three Dead, Over 15 Injured in Bus-Truck Collision on Tarapur-Dharmaj Highway
Anand, November 28: A fatal collision between a luxury bus and a truck on the Tarapur-Dharmaj Highway near Petlad in Anand district claimed three lives and left more than 15 passengers injured on Thursday morning. The deceased have been identified as Dhruv Rudani (32) from Bharuch, Mansukh Korat (67) from Rajkot, and Kalpesh Jiyani (39) from Rajkot.
According to police reports, the luxury bus was traveling from Rajkot to Surat and was near Vaddala Patiya on the Tarapur-Dharmaj Highway when the driver attempted to overtake a truck. The driver lost control of the steering, causing the bus to collide with the rear of the truck.
The impact of the accident left three passengers dead on the spot and injured over 15 others. The bus sustained severe damage on one side. Following the incident, ambulances and highway patrol police, along with Petlad Rural Police, arrived at the scene. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the deceased were sent for post-mortem examinations.
Petlad Police have registered a case against the bus driver, Sohil Malek of Amreli, based on a complaint filed by the truck driver, Ghanshyam Jhala of Borsad. Legal proceedings are underway to determine the cause of the accident and ensure accountability.
