Vadodara - In response to the state government's initiative to launch an intensive cleanliness campaign at holy pilgrimage sites across the state, Vadodara Corporation has dispatched 123 sanitation workers to participate in the cleaning efforts at Pavagadh and Kuber Bhandari Yatradham. The campaign began on April 22, and the government's Gujarat Tourism Corporation and Gujarat Holy Pilgrimage Development Board are also involved in this joint initiative.
The cleanliness campaign aims to maintain not only the temples but also the roads connecting them and the surrounding premises. Vadodara Municipal Corporation has partnered with the state government to ensure the cleanliness of the Pavagadh and Kuber Bhandari (Karnali) pilgrimage sites near Vadodara city.
The cleaning teams have been divided into two groups: one comprising two supervisors and 65 sweepers assigned to Pavagadh from the south and west zones, and the other with two supervisors and 58 sweepers from Kuber Bhandari (Karnali) in the north and east zones.
Assistant Municipal Commissioner (West Zone) Suresh S. Tuvar will coordinate the cleaning campaign at Pavagadh Yatradham, while Assistant Municipal Commissioner (East Zone) Fatabhai Baria will oversee efforts at Kuber Bhandari (Karnali) Yatradham. The campaign will provide lighting, machinery, and dustbins as needed, and the collected waste will be transported to designated dumping sites managed by the local authority.
