Vikrant Massey’s 'The Sabarmati Report' Opens to a Slow Start at the Box Office
Mumbai – Vikrant Massey’s latest film, "The Sabarmati Report," which had been generating buzz in recent days, was released in theaters on Friday, November 15. However, the film's first-day box office collection has turned out to be disappointing.
Based on the tragic 2002 Sabarmati Express incident in Godhra, Gujarat, the film failed to receive a strong response from audiences. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, "The Sabarmati Report" collected only ₹1.47 crore nationwide on its opening day.
With a production budget of ₹50 crore, the film’s slow start raises questions about its overall performance. The weekend box office results will be crucial in determining the movie's success.
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film features Vikrant Massey, Rashi Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra in key roles. Despite its compelling premise, the film will need stronger word-of-mouth and higher footfall over the weekend to recover its costs.
