Youth Entrepreneurs Aarini and Saumya Sheth Raise Over INR 200000 for Sanitation Workers with Awaaz

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], October 29: The Zoology Department of Gujarat University was the centre of an inspiring social initiative, “Awaaz,” spearheaded by youth social entrepreneurs Aarini Sheth and Saumya Sheth. The event aimed to highlight and honor the critical yet often overlooked contributions of sanitation workers, successfully raising over INR 2,00,000. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the power of community engagement and advocacy.

“Awaaz,” organised under the banner of Sahayta Square, was a collaborative effort supported by various esteemed partners, including YUVA Unstoppable, Advait Energy Transitions Ltd (formerly Advait Infratech Ltd), Project Iraada, Money Matters, and Trash to Treasure. The evening’s agenda seamlessly blended culture and social awareness, featuring captivating performances of Odissi and Kathak, a stirring play, and a documentary that illuminated the ongoing struggles of sanitation workers.

Aarini Sheth not only played a pivotal role in organizing the event but also graced the stage with a mesmerizing Kathak performance, adding a personal and artistic flair to the evening. Contributions from prominent supporters like Mr Vneet Jain’s Adimahesh Seva Foundation, Mr Kurang Panchal, and Mr Saumil Purohit were instrumental in making “Awaaz” a success. Their generosity, combined with the presence of the event’s chief guest, Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Secretary of the Auroville Foundation, lent further credibility and significance to the cause.

In her emotionally charged speech, Dr. Ravi commended Aarini Sheth’s dedication to sanitation workers, stating, “I feel this cause of sanitation is so important. Seeing a young child with such commitment and motivation to improve the lives of sanitation workers is truly inspiring. Aarini’s actions go beyond mere thought—she has taken concrete steps in making a difference, which we should all admire.”

With INR 2,00,000 raised, “Awaaz” set a strong precedent for future social justice initiatives, effectively merging art, awareness, and tangible action. The success of this event demonstrates the incredible potential of youth leadership in driving social change.
