Surat Crime Branch Uncovers Stolen Mobile Phone Operation

Surat: The Crime Branch Police have made significant progress in the investigation of a recent murder and mobile robbery case in the Sachin GIDC area, leading to the discovery of a shopkeeper selling stolen mobile phones. After the arrest and intensive interrogation of three suspects - Vikas, Satyam Singh, and Rohit - the police learned of Arvind Morya's involvement in the illicit trade. Morya has been arrested, and 21 stolen mobile phones have been recovered from his shop.

The three suspects were initially arrested on April 12 for the brutal murder of a working-class youth and the theft of his mobile phone. Upon further questioning, the suspects revealed that they had been selling stolen mobiles at Morya's Rudra Mobile Service Center in Gautam Nagar. The police arrested Morya based on this information.

Arvind Morya operated under the guise of a legitimate mobile service center but was found to be in contact with at least seven mobile snatchers, including Rishikesh Mishra, Akash, Vikas, Vijay Pratap Chaturvedi, Satyam Singh, Rohit Yadav, and Utkarsh Rajput. These individuals would steal mobile phones and sell them to Morya at low prices.

The initial incident that sparked the investigation occurred on April 12, when a laborer was attacked and killed by three individuals on a bike who attempted to steal his mobile phone. The crime was captured on CCTV footage, which helped the police identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
