Youth from Jharkhand Arrested for Extortion Threat to Salman Khan, Demanding ₹5 Crore

Mumbai, October 24 : A 24-year-old man from Jharkhand has been arrested for sending a threatening message to the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline, demanding a ₹5 crore ransom to settle the ongoing dispute between Bollywood actor Salman Khan and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrest was made by Worli Police following the registration of a case linked to the extortion demand.

The arrested individual, identified as Hussain Sheikh, hails from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Sheikh sent the threatening message through WhatsApp to the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline, claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In his message, he demanded ₹5 crore from Salman Khan to resolve the long-standing dispute between the actor and the gang. Sheikh also issued a chilling warning, stating that if the money was not paid, Khan would face a fate worse than that of politician Baba Siddique, who was recently killed.

Upon receiving the threat on October 17, the Mumbai Traffic Police promptly filed a complaint with Worli Police Station. Investigations revealed the message originated from Jharkhand, leading the police to track down Sheikh using his mobile number. He was subsequently taken into custody.

Meanwhile, another threatening message has surfaced, reportedly sent by a 17-year-old boy from Guwahati. Authorities have issued a notice to the boy's family in connection with the investigation. The police continue to probe the matter to ensure the safety and security of Salman Khan.
