New Delhi, October 8: Bollywood's dancing superstar Mithun Chakraborty has been honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award. The 70th National Film Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Mithun Chakraborty, recognizing his immense contributions to Indian cinema.
After receiving the award, Mithun Chakraborty expressed his gratitude and shared an emotional reflection on his journey. He said, "I have won the National Award three times before. The first time I won, success went to my head. I faced a lot of discrimination due to my dark complexion. I used to cry in front of God. Then I thought about dancing so that people wouldn’t notice my color but would focus on my dancing feet... and that's how I became the 'Sexy Bengali Babu.' Today, after receiving this award, I have stopped complaining."
