India Clinches Seven-Wicket Victory Against Bangladesh in First T20 of the Series
Gwalior, October 6: India secured a dominant seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first match of the three-match T20 series. The Indian bowlers set the tone by restricting Bangladesh to 127 all out, and the batsmen comfortably chased down the target with 49 balls to spare. Hardik Pandya sealed the win with a six.
Chasing a target of 128, India started aggressively. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson quickly added runs, but Abhishek was run out after scoring 16 runs off 7 balls, including two boundaries and a six. Sanju contributed 29 runs off 19 balls, hitting six boundaries. Captain Suryakumar Yadav blasted 29 runs off just 14 balls, with three sixes and two fours. Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 39 from 16 balls, while Nitish Reddy supported him with 16* as India reached 128/3 in just 11.5 overs. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being put into bat, Bangladesh struggled and were bowled out for 127 in 19.5 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz top-scored with 35 runs from 32 balls, including three boundaries. Captain Shanto added 27 off 25 balls, while Taskin Ahmed (12) and Parvez Hossain (8) provided some late contributions. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Choudhary took three wickets each, while Mayank Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Washington Sundar chipped in with one wicket apiece.
