Rajkumar Hirani to Receive Prestigious Kishore Kumar Award 2023
Mumbai – In a tribute to legendary singer Kishore Kumar, the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to honor acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani with the prestigious Kishore Kumar Award 2023. The award ceremony will take place on October 13 in Khandwa, coinciding with Kishore Kumar's death anniversary. The event, to be held at the Police Parade Ground, is dedicated to celebrating the iconic figure of Indian cinema.
Rajkumar Hirani, one of the finest filmmakers in Indian cinema, is known for using his films to highlight social issues. He will be recognized for his outstanding contribution to the industry. Hirani is celebrated for his classic films such as *3 Idiots*, *PK*, *Sanju*, *Munna Bhai MBBS*, and *Dunki*. With 2024 marking his 20th year in the industry, having started his career in 2003 with *Munna Bhai MBBS*, this award further cements his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema.
Over the years, many prominent figures, including Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, and Shatrughan Sinha, have received the Kishore Kumar Award. Producers, directors, and lyricists have also been part of this prestigious honor. This year, the Cultural Department of Bhopal will bestow the award on Hirani, solidifying his status among Indian cinema’s greats.
The event will also feature a special *Kishore Night*, a musical tribute to Kishore Kumar. Mumbai’s renowned singer Neeraj Shridhar and his team will perform some of Kishore Da’s most beloved songs, making it a night of nostalgia for his evergreen music lovers.
