India to Become World's Third Largest Economy in Five Years: PM Modi at Tech CEOs Roundtable in New York

New York – During a high-profile roundtable meeting with leading technology company CEOs in the U.S., Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India's imminent rise as the world's third-largest economy within the next five years. He projected that India will achieve this milestone during his third term in office. Highlighting India's booming electronics sector, Modi shared the goal of expanding its current $150 billion value to $500 billion by 2030.

Addressing the attendees during his U.S. visit, PM Modi expressed India's readiness to collaborate with industry leaders to achieve these ambitious targets. He noted that India boasts a workforce of over 500 million people, with a strong focus on STEM education, particularly among women. "Training and upskilling the youth is essential in today's world," he added.

"For the past decade, India has moved forward with the mantra of reform, perform, and transform," Modi remarked. He stressed that today's India not only dreams big but also strives to fulfill its ambitions. Given that the 21st century is driven by technology, he highlighted the need for balance between technology and democracy. "The fusion of democratic values and technology guarantees human welfare," Modi said. He added that India offers a unique combination of talent, democracy, and a thriving market—an unparalleled opportunity for global businesses.

Reflecting on his previous visit to Washington last year, Modi recalled his interactions with several of the CEOs present at the event. "It feels great to be meeting some of the world's top innovators again today, a year after our last gathering," he said, expressing his pride in the ongoing discussions with global tech leaders.
