Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam Program Unites Thousands in Cultural Celebration

Surat, India - A grand welcome ceremony was held at the Surat railway station for around 5,000 visitors from Tamil Nadu, arriving for the Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam program. The event aims to strengthen bonds between the Tamil and Saurashtra communities and celebrate India's rich cultural diversity.

The Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam program has been organized as a confluence of art, food, artisans, education, literature, and sports activities. The Somnath temple, the oldest Jyotirlinga in India, was chosen as the site for the event due to the thousands of Tamil Shiva devotees who visit it every year. The initiative seeks to reinforce the message of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" (One India, Great India).

At the Surat railway station, local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers were present in large numbers to warmly welcome the visitors from Tamil Nadu. The program has been launched under the "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" initiative, aiming to foster strong bonds between the Tamil and Saurashtra communities.
