Ahmedabad Event Company Owner Defrauded of Rs 3.51 Lakh

Court Extends Remand for Mahathug Kiran Patel, Accused of Posing as PMO Officer

Ahmedabad Event Company Owner Defrauded of Rs 3.51 Lakh

Ahmedabad, India - A new complaint has been filed against Mahathug Kiran Patel, who allegedly defrauded the owner of an event company of Rs 3.51 lakh by pretending to be an officer of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Patel was produced in court on Saturday after the completion of his remand, with the court approving an extension until April 18 at 3 pm.

The latest complaint, lodged with the crime branch, accuses Patel of identifying himself as a PMO official and offering the event company owner, Hardik Chandarana, a significant event assignment. Patel claimed to be responsible for the development of Kashmir and promised Chandarana the task of organizing a major medical conference in the region.

Believing Patel's claims, Chandarana spent an estimated Rs 3.51 lakh on preparations for the event. He booked flights and hotels in Srinagar, costing around Rs 1.60 lakh, and spent an additional Rs 1.91 lakh at the Hyatt Hotel under the banner of the G-20 Summit, based on Patel's assurances.

In his complaint to the crime branch, Chandarana alleges that Patel cheated him by not returning the money spent in the name of event organization. Authorities are investigating the possibility of other individuals being involved in Patel's fraudulent activities. Various cases against Patel have been registered in Ahmedabad, Byd, and Jammu and Kashmir, with every aspect of his case being scrutinized.
