Daring Heist at Surat Jewelry Store, Thieves Steal Gold and Silver Worth Over 1.25 Crore

In a brazen theft, burglars targeted Ornamental Jewelers located near the Turning Point in the Umra area of Surat, making away with approximately 2 kilograms of gold and 1 kilogram of silver. The incident, which occurred late at night, was recorded by the shop's CCTV system showing four suspects arriving in an Eco car.

According to Shaileshbhai Soni, the complainant, the thieves broke into the store's shutter and stole the precious metals stored in the showroom's sockets. The estimated loss from the robbery amounts to around 1.25 crore rupees. Soni expressed his distress over the security breach and the substantial financial impact on his business.

Following the report of the incident, police promptly arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. A comprehensive search involving fingerprint analysis, a dog squad, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team is underway. The police have scrutinized CCTV footage to identify the suspects and are coordinating with various teams to expedite their capture.

ACP Vijay Malhotra commented on the ongoing investigation, stating, "We have started to tally the bills to determine the exact amount of gold and silver stolen. We are also working on identifying the individuals seen in the CCTV footage. Our teams are making concerted efforts to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible."

The theft has cast a shadow over the festive season's spirit in the area, with local businesses expressing concern over safety and security. The police have assured that all possible measures are being taken to track down and prosecute those responsible for this significant crime.
