Maruti Suzuki Slashes Prices of Alto K10 and S-Presso Variants
New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s leading car manufacturer, has announced an immediate reduction in the prices of select variants of its popular Alto K10 and S-Presso models. The new prices came into effect on Monday.
In a notification to the stock exchanges on Monday, Maruti Suzuki confirmed the price cuts, stating that the S-Presso LXi petrol variant will see a reduction of ₹2,000, while the Alto K10 VXi petrol variant will be cheaper by ₹6,500. This move comes just a day after the company reported a nearly 3.9% drop in sales for August 2024.
The company revealed that it sold 181,782 units in August 2024, compared to 189,082 units in the same month the previous year. The total sales figure includes 145,570 units sold domestically and 26,003 units exported. The price adjustment is seen as a strategic response to counteract the declining sales trend, aiming to boost consumer interest in these models.
