Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Conducts Aerial Survey of Flood-Affected Areas

Ahmedabad - Amidst torrential rains, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel undertook an aerial inspection of the flood-stricken regions of Dwarka, Jamnagar, and Vadodara on Thursday. After the inspection, he reviewed the ongoing relief and rescue operations.

Overview of Flood Relief Efforts

During his survey, CM Patel observed the arrangements made at the shelters established for the displaced populations. The Vishwamitri River in Vadodara has again breached its banks, intensifying the flood conditions. CM Patel engaged directly with the affected residents in Dwarka, Jamnagar, and Vadodara, ensuring that displaced individuals were relocated to safer areas.

Post-Flood Recovery Plans

The Chief Minister announced that once the floodwaters recede, priority will be given to restoring basic services such as health, electricity, and road infrastructure in the affected areas. Municipal teams in Dwarka, Jamnagar, and Vadodara have already commenced cleanup operations. The Health Department has deployed 10 teams consisting of 1,400 personnel in Vadodara District, and 90 teams have been positioned to assist the affected families financially and otherwise.

**Agricultural and Supply Chain Support**
In efforts to assess agricultural damage, 52 survey teams are operational. In Vadodara city and district, over 274,000 food packets and 107,000 water bottles have been distributed to flood victims. Additionally, three military units have been dispatched to assist in the hardest-hit areas, including the Ramnagar and Kanzhar check post areas of Khambhaliya.

In the presence of the Chief Secretary Rajkumar, CM Patel conducted a review meeting at the collector's offices in Dwarka and Jamnagar to coordinate further relief efforts and ensure efficient management of the crisis recovery phase.
