Tragic Accident at Radha Raman Textile Market in Surat Results in Fatalities

Surat - A severe accident occurred at the Radha Raman Textile Market in the Saroli area of Surat, where a scaffolding collapse resulted in the death of two workers and serious injuries to another. The incident happened as workers were dismantling the scaffold after completing pipe replacement work in the market.

During the removal of the scaffolding, it unexpectedly collapsed, causing five workers to fall from the fifth floor. Among the workers, Santosh Vaidya, Montu Paswan, Minku, Mangesh, and Shivam Mishra were present at the site. Mangesh and Shivam managed to grab onto a metal angle and survived the fall. However, Santosh, Montu, and Minku were not so fortunate and were rushed to SMIMER Hospital, where two were pronounced dead upon arrival.

The condition of the third worker remains critical, and he is currently receiving medical treatment. Local police arrived swiftly at the scene to record statements from the deceased's relatives and fellow workers. The bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities are investigating the incident thoroughly, including questioning the contractor responsible for the site's safety measures. This tragic event has raised concerns about safety regulations and enforcement in construction sites within the region.
