Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Awards Degrees to Over 39,000 Students

In a grand celebration marking the 191st birth anniversary of the revered poet Veer Narmad, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University held its 55th convocation ceremony in Surat. The ceremony witnessed the awarding of degrees to 39,666 students across 85 courses in 12 subjects, including 42 PhDs and 4 M.Phil. degrees.

The event was graced by the presence of former Vice Chancellor Prof. Rameshchandra Kothari, and notably, the State Minister of Education, Prafullbhai Pansheria, who received his postgraduate degree in Political Science during the ceremony. Minister Pansheria completed his MA in Political Science through a two-year external program offered by Narmad University.

During his convocation speech, Minister Pansheria highlighted the significance of Indian culture and knowledge. He urged the graduates to remain humble and knowledgeable, referencing sayings like "True knowledge fosters humility" and "Education beautifies when accompanied by humility." He encouraged students to draw inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, which has been incorporated into the school curriculum under the National Education Policy 2020.

Minister Pansheria emphasized that education is the foundation of the nation's progress and called upon the graduates to contribute towards building 'One India, Supreme India'. The ceremony not only celebrated academic achievements but also served as a reminder of the cultural heritage and educational responsibilities of the graduates.
