Ayushmann Khurrana Exits 'Border-2' Over Character Concerns

Mumbai. The 1997 film 'Border' was a massive box office hit. This year, Sunny Deol announced the sequel, 'Border-2,' with expectations of Ayushmann Khurrana playing a significant role. However, recent reports reveal that Ayushmann has declined to participate in the film.

A source explained that after months of discussions, Ayushmann decided to exit 'Border-2' due to confusion about Sunny Deol's role. "The team was in talks with Ayushmann for a soldier's role. Both the producer and Ayushmann were willing to collaborate, but Ayushmann was uncertain about his character's importance compared to Sunny Deol's prominent presence," the source added. This has not yet been confirmed by Ayushmann himself.

Diljit Dosanjh May Join 'Border-2'

There have been rumors that Diljit Dosanjh might take on a significant role in 'Border-2'. While producers have approached him, no official confirmation has been made. The film is scheduled to begin filming in November. Sunny Deol announced the sequel to surprise fans on the 27th anniversary of the original film.

Binoy Gandhi, producing 'Border-2,' revealed that the film's script, written by his wife Nidhi Gatta, is well-crafted. "We will start shooting in November, preceded by a grand event introducing the entire star cast," said Gandhi. "Within a month, we will showcase the cast with their characters and getups."

Ayushmann Rejects Meghna Gulzar's Film

Before 'Border-2,' Ayushmann also turned down a role in Meghna Gulzar's upcoming film due to scheduling conflicts. The film, rumored to feature Kareena Kapoor and based on the Hyderabad rape case, temporarily titled 'Range,' could not align with Ayushmann's dates, leading to his exit.
