Dhaka- Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus has been chosen to lead the interim government in Bangladesh amidst the current coup and widespread violence. This decision was made during a meeting at Banga Bhavan, presided over by President Mohammad Shahabuddin, and attended by prominent student leaders and military chiefs.

Yunus, a prominent opponent of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, gained support from protesting students who accepted his proposal to head the interim government.
