Surat – The murder of a young man in the Dindoli area late Monday night has caused a stir throughout the locality. Police have registered a murder case for the killing of 22-year-old Ansh alias Gaurav, a resident of Mahadev Nagar.
According to authorities, Ansh had moved to Surat from Bardoli a month ago and was previously undergoing treatment at a de-addiction center. The tragic incident occurred at midnight when assailants attacked him. Despite locals’ attempts to intervene after hearing his screams, the attackers managed to flee. Ansh, severely injured, was rushed to the New Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Ansh's brother, Ankit, has filed a complaint with the police. He reported that on the night of August 5, around 9:30 pm, Ansh had a dispute with Kailas alias Kalu Ramosi, a resident of Bhimnagar Awas, Udhna, and Rakesh alias Raku Salve, a resident of Sainagar Kavita Medical's lane, over a simple joke. During the altercation, Rakesh held Ansh from behind while Kailash fatally stabbed him in the chest. Ansh also sustained injuries to his beard and cheek.
Upon receiving news of the incident, Dindoli police arrived at the scene and began their investigation. DCP Bhagirath Gadhvi stated that the police are scrutinizing CCTV footage and other evidence to solve the case.
