Neeraj Chopra Qualifies for Paris Olympics Javelin Final with Stellar Throw
Paris, August 06 (HS) – India's javelin sensation Neeraj Chopra has advanced to the final of the men's javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics 2024. In the qualification round held on Tuesday, Neeraj impressed with a stunning throw of 89.34 meters on his first attempt, well beyond the automatic qualification mark of 84 meters.
Starting first in Group B, Neeraj Chopra showcased his exceptional talent by achieving the qualifying distance with ease. His 89.34-meter throw not only secured his spot in the final but also highlighted his readiness to defend his Olympic title.
Neeraj, the reigning world champion, aims to retain his title in the final. If successful, he will become the first Indian athlete to win two gold medals in the individual category at the Olympics. Neeraj clinched gold at the Tokyo Olympics with an effort of 87.58 meters.
The much-anticipated final will be held on August 8 at 11:55 pm.
