Surat Police Investigate Viral Photo of Saree Businessman and Wife with Lewd Comments

Surat's Salabatpura police have begun an investigation into a case involving a young Zari saree businessman's photo with his wife going viral on WhatsApp and Facebook, accompanied by lewd comments. The businessman filed a complaint on a cybercrime website against an unknown individual, prompting the police to register the case and initiate an inquiry.

The photo and accompanying text message were circulated, claiming that the businessman in Surat provided bikes to numerous people under false pretenses and then extorted money from them. The message warned others not to engage in dealings with him. Family members of the 35-year-old businessman, Mahesh (name changed), informed him of the situation a week ago.

The same message was also posted on Facebook by an individual named Tejas Rana. Mahesh filed a complaint on the cybercrime website, suspecting that someone had done this to defame him. Salabatpura police subsequently registered a case against Tejas Rana and launched an investigation. The police suspect that the individual responsible for the viral photo and comments is known to the victim.
