Devotees to Use 1800 Stairs During Maintenance Period
Godhra – The ropeway of Kalika Mata temple located in Pavagadh of Halol tehsil in Panchmahal district will remain closed from August 5 to 10 for repairs. Usha Breco Company, which operates the ropeway, has announced the temporary closure for maintenance work.
During this period, devotees visiting the Kalika Mata temple will have to use the stairs. There are approximately 1800 stairs from the temple's bottom Machi to the shrine, which devotees will need to climb to reach the temple.
Pavagadh's Mahakali temple, situated in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat, is notable for its statue of Dakshinmukhi Kali Maa. The temple is perched at an altitude of about 550 meters among the high hills of Pavagadh. The Pavagadh hill starts from Champaner, the capital of ancient Gujarat, and features 'Machi Haveli' at an altitude of 1,471 feet. From Machi Haveli, the ropeway facility usually assists devotees in reaching the temple, but with the ropeway closed, the only access will be via the 1800 stairs.
