New Civic Centers Aim to Streamline Municipal Services for Urban Residents

CM Bhupendra Patel Inaugurates 32 City Civic Centers in Gujarat

Ahmedabad — Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated 32 City Civic Centers in Gujarat, offering a significant enhancement to municipal services for urban residents. The inauguration took place in Balasinor city, Mahisagar district, marking a pivotal step in providing streamlined access to various municipal services.

These City Civic Centers, established as part of the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Urban Development Scheme, aim to resolve citizen issues efficiently and provide online municipal services from a single location. Initially introduced in 2022-23, the first phase saw the operation of such centers in 22 municipalities. The second phase, planned for 2023-24, includes 66 more municipalities, with an estimated budget of Rs 93.76 crore.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Patel inaugurated the centers in 31 municipalities, with construction costs amounting to Rs 44.05 crore. The event was attended by State Cabinet members, MLAs, and officials at various locations.

The new City Civic Centers cater to property tax applications, hall bookings, tax assessments, marriage registrations, business tax registrations, birth and death certificates, Gumasta licenses, and other municipal complaints. This initiative reflects the state government's commitment to enhancing urban amenities.

The municipalities benefitting from the second phase include Balasinor, Patdi, Kapadwanj, Botad, Thasara, Jetpur, Gondal, Sikka, Okha, Patan, Siddhpur, Unjha, Dhanera, Mansa, Shahera, Halol, Anand, Petlad, Santrampur, Jhaloda, Dharampur, Jambusar, Bardoli, Bilimora, Songadh, Mahuva, Kodinar, Visavadar, Babra, Palitana, and Mangrol.

Prominent attendees included District Panchayat Chairman Babubhai Patel, Panchmahal MP Rajpal Singh Jadav, Balasinor MLA Mansingh Chauhan, Mahisagar District BJP President Dashrathbhai Baria, Balasinor Tehsil Panchayat Chairman Savitaben Chauhan, Commissioner of Municipality Administration Rajkumar Beniwal, Regional Municipality Director SP Bhagora, District Collector Neha Kumari, and District Development Officer Chandrakant Patel.
