Triple Collision on Varachha Overbridge in Surat
Rickshaw's Tyre Burst Leads to Multi-Vehicle Accident; No Injuries Reported
A serious accident occurred on the Varachha Main Road Overbridge in Surat when a rickshaw's tyre burst. The driver of an ST bus coming behind attempted to avoid the rickshaw, applying sudden brakes. This led to a collision involving a Sumul Dairy tempo and a car behind it.
The incident happened near Kapodra on the overbridge connecting Varachha Main Road and Podar Char Road. The ST bus, carrying around 30 passengers, was en route from Surat Depot to Billimora-Dahod. Thanks to the quick response of the ST bus driver, no injuries were reported despite the severe impact.
The sudden stop by the bus driver caused the Sumul Dairy tempo to crash into the bus, followed by a car crashing into the tempo. The collision resulted in a massive traffic jam on the overbridge. Police promptly arrived at the scene, working efficiently to clear the traffic and remove the damaged vehicles, restoring normal flow.
