Surat Police Reclaim Rs 16 Crore from Cyber Frauds for Victims
DCP Rozia highlights successful initiatives against cyber crime
Surat- Police action against cyber crime in Surat city is bearing fruit. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) B.P. Rozia announced that Surat Police has returned a total of Rs 16 crore to 3059 victims of cyber fraud.
DCP Rozia elaborated on the actions taken by the Cyber Crime Cell in Surat city-district, mentioning that many victims have recovered their money through initiatives like the 'Tera Tujhko Arpan' program, NCCRP, and IRU. Besides this, the police have also saved Rs 97.70 lakh by providing immediate assistance to 120 victims.
The Gujarat Police have provided substantial relief to thousands of cyber crime victims by reopening their bank accounts, aiding them in recovering from financial losses. DCP Rozia has appealed to city residents to remain cautious of cyber fraud and not to trust messages from unknown numbers. He advised victims of cyber crime to immediately contact the helpline number 1930.
