Surat : Liquor Smuggler Caught with Hidden Stash in Udhna Raid

Surat-  There is no limit to the cunningness of liquor smugglers in Surat, who are adopting new methods every day to dodge the police. The latest case is from Udhna, where a liquor smuggler had hidden hundreds of liquor bottles by making a basement behind the electric board in his house.

The police had received information that a person named Pankaj Dhansukh Rana was conducting illegal liquor business in his house. Based on this information, the police raided his house. The initial search did not yield any results, but when the police removed the electric board, liquor bottles started emerging from behind it.

Further investigation revealed more liquor bottles hidden under the stairs and behind a closet. The police seized a total of 487 bottles of foreign liquor and beer of various brands, valued at approximately Rs 66,300.

It is worth noting that Pankaj Dhansukh Rana has previously been caught in 23 cases of liquor smuggling, with cases registered against him in Udhna, Navsari, Khergam Sachin, and Mahidharpura police stations. Despite his past arrests, he continued his illicit activities.

The police have arrested Pankaj Dhansukh Rana and declared his accomplice, Saurabh Bihari, as wanted. A case has been registered against both under the Gujarat Narcotics Act.
