Surat Tightens Rules for Game Zones After Rajkot Tragedy

Surat - Following a tragic accident in Rajkot, the Surat administration has decided to enforce stringent regulations for opening and operating game zones. Surat Police Commissioner has issued a comprehensive 63-page notification detailing the new requirements.

Under the new regulations, game zone owners must reapply for licenses to operate. Additionally, expert opinions must be obtained before starting any equipment or game. The administration must approve all games to ensure they meet safety standards.

The new rules prioritize visitor safety, making third-party liability insurance mandatory for all game zone owners. Furthermore, game zones must comply with all fire safety, structural safety, and electrical safety standards.

To maintain these safety standards, an inspection committee will be established to conduct bi-annual inspections of all game zones. Any safety violations found during these inspections will result in strict actions against the owners.

The initial license issued will be valid for three years, after which it must be renewed every two years. The new notification aims to ensure safety in game zones by requiring strict adherence to these rules.

The administration emphasizes that all game zone owners must comply with these new regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors.
