In the rain-interrupted game, India modified their opening pair, sending Sanju Samson alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. The match was halted after two deliveries due to rain, and upon resumption, India's target was adjusted to 78 runs in 8 overs. Samson fell early without scoring, but Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Jaiswal stabilized the innings with a 39-run partnership. Suryakumar's explosive 26 off 12 balls and Jaiswal's 30 off 15 balls set the pace, followed by Hardik Pandya's quickfire 22 off 9 balls, leading India to victory. Rishabh Pant remained not out with 2 runs. For Sri Lanka, Mahisha Pathirana, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Mathisha Teekshna each took one wicket.
Earlier, Sri Lanka, batting first after losing the toss, posted 161/9 in 20 overs. Kusal Perera top-scored with 53 runs, supported by Pathum Nissanka (32), Kamindu Mendis (26), and Charith Asalanka (14). Ravi Bishnoi was the standout bowler for India with 3 wickets, while Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh each claimed 2 wickets.
