Owner and coordinator of the coaching centre held
New Delhi, 28 July (HS): Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, condoled the death of three IAS aspirants on Sunday as a result of
waterlogging in the basement of a building here, saying that people are paying the price for dangerous construction, poor town planning, and institutional irresponsibility at all levels. Three civil service aspirants died after the basement of a building housing a coaching center in central Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar district flooded due to heavy rain, according to officials.
Gandhi stated in a Hindi post on X that the death of kids preparing for competitive examinations due to waterlogging in the basement of a Delhi building is really terrible. A student died a few days ago from an electric shock while it was raining. He sent his sincere sympathies to the departed families.
"The breakdown of infrastructure is the result of a systemic failure. The common citizen is paying the price for unsafe construction, poor town planning, and institutional irresponsibility at all levels by losing his life," added the former Congress chief. Gandhi believed that every citizen has the right to a safe and comfortable existence, and governments bear the responsibility for it. The owner and coordinator of the coaching centre where three students perished due to flooding caused by heavy rains were apprehended by Delhi Police on Sunday, according to officials. They have been charged with culpable homicide and other offenses, according to police.
